Continued collaboration between Norma Instruments Zrt. and ELTE within the 2023-1.1.1-PIACI_FÓKUSZ NKFIH project
The collaboration between Norma Instruments Zrt. and Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) within the 2023-1.1.1-PIACI_FÓKUSZ NKFIH grant project has continued. While previously researchers from ELTE visited Norma’s R&D laboratory, this time one of our research biologists visited the university, where they personally participated in the experimental processes.
The experiment took place in one of the training laboratories of ELTE’s Department of Immunology, where, similar to earlier work, the separation of white blood cells was carried out according to a complex and time-consuming protocol. In addition to isolating granulocytes, lymphocyte and monocyte populations were also separated. At the end of the process, we applied antibody-based labeling, which enabled cell sorting, making not only the identification but also the isolation of white blood cells possible. This step is particularly significant for the project, as it allows us to study the light-scattering properties of individual cell types independently, without angular limitations.
The research is ongoing, and our goal is to enhance the effectiveness of our joint work through new approaches, ensuring that future experiments are even more successful.
