The prize recognizes the innovation capabilities of Norma’s R&D team and the resulting revolutionary innovations that will benefit patients and laboratory diagnostics globally.

Norma Instruments, an innovative technology company developing novel proprietary trend setting products in the field of hematology, announced today that it has won the prestigious Millennium Innovation Prize. The Prize was established by the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) and is awarded annually to companies who are considered technology leaders and developing innovations of significant societal impact.

The prize is handed over on April 26, 2016, the World Intellectual Property Day that, according to the resolution taken in 2000 by the General Assembly of the UN World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO, Geneva), is dedicated each year to the protection of the activities and the achievements by technical creators who excel in contributing to social development and progress at a worldwide scale.

Since its establishment, Norma has been focusing its research and development on creating economical, clean, environment-conscious solutions in the area of in-vitro diagnostics, especially hematology, to the benefit of the overall healthcare system.

Miklos Bendzsel, President of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office added: “Norma is an outstanding candidate for this year’s Millennium Prize. Their development team provided unique innovations that, I am sure, will be recognized by the healthcare market soon.
