The Renewed iVet-5: A New Era in Veterinary Hematology
Norma Instruments is proud to announce the launch of the renewed iVet-5 veterinary hematology analyzer, marking a major milestone for our company and the global veterinary diagnostics community.
Presented by Katalin Bucsy, CEO of Norma Instruments, together with József Némedi, Director of Research and Development, and Csaba Magyar, Product Manager, the new iVet-5 embodies the result of dedicated research, scientific precision, and close collaboration with veterinarians around the world.
“All our research, development, and production take place in Budapest,” said CEO Katalin Bucsy. “We invest a significant part of our revenue in R&D, and with our presence in more than 80 countries, we’re confident that the renewed iVet-5 will bring real value to veterinarians and clinics worldwide.”
Broader Diagnostic Coverage
The renewed iVet-5 now supports 17 animal profiles – expanding far beyond its previous six. This development allows veterinarians to analyze blood samples from a wide variety of species, covering both companion animals and livestock.
The expanded list now includes:
Dog, cat, horse, foal, thoroughbred horse, guinea pig, rabbit, ferret, rat, mouse, camel, New World camelids (llama, alpaca, vicuña), cattle, swine, sheep, goat, and donkey.
“We listened carefully to veterinarians and researchers worldwide,” added József Némedi. “Their feedback inspired us to create new, validated profiles that ensure accuracy and confidence in every result.”
Each profile was developed through extensive data collection and cross-validation with leading reference analyzers, ensuring that the iVet-5 delivers precise, reliable, and consistent performance across all species.
Designed for Daily Efficiency
The renewed iVet-5 offers a flexible, customizable interface, allowing users to display only the animal profiles relevant to their practice. This makes daily operation simpler and more efficient, whether in small animal clinics, mixed practices, or farms.
Results are available in just one and a half minutes using the open vial sampling mode, and the analyzer remains lightweight – under 9 kilograms – with very low reagent consumption, supporting both cost-efficiency and environmental sustainability.
A Fresh Look for Veterinary Diagnostics
Alongside its technical advancements, the renewed iVet-5 introduces a new design identity for Norma’s veterinary product line. Its clean, white exterior reflects precision and clarity, and clearly distinguishes it from human medical devices.
“The new design gives our veterinary analyzers a distinct presence in any veterinary clinic,” said Product Manager Csaba Magyar. “It’s practical, space-saving, and built for the realities of modern veterinary work.”
A Partner in Veterinary Care
With its extended species coverage, user-focused software, and scientifically validated performance, the renewed iVet-5 is more than just a hematology analyzer – it’s a partner for veterinarians everywhere.
From small animal clinics to large-scale farms and research institutions, the renewed Norma iVet-5 provides dependable results, sustainable operation, and the confidence professionals need to care for their patients.
